So here is a really weird video about breast feeding your kids as long as they want to. This lady has an 8 year old that she is still breast feeding. If you are embarrassed by breasts don't watch this. Alina told me about this video and my curiosity got the better of me so I found it, now I pass it along to you. I will be interested to find out if anyone has any thoughts on the subject. Please comment. Is there merit to this idea or is it wrong? I am curious to know what everyone thinks.

God bless formula...
I thank God every night for Similac and Enfamil.
Oh, dear. I actually just met a woman last week who is still nursing her 5 year old. And she told me about it as if I would think that it is completely normal!
My one thought is that parents who do this, fail to realize that they are the ones in charge. Children do not know what is best for them. Just like you tell your child to brush their teeth (no options here) you tell your child when to stop nursing. It sounds like this mom encourages it, but the mom I talked to last week felt like she didn't really want her son nursing, but he wanted to, so what do you do? Tell him no!
my former boyfriend and his brother were breastfed in this fashion. and i think it definitely led to an unhealthily enmeshed attachment with their mother which had carried into adulthood. it seems like it is almost done more to meet an emotional need of the mother's for intimacy, rather than the child's.
....um....I....I just....this gives me an "uh-oh feeling". I noticed the mother talked about the daughters feeling and talking as though the "breasts were their own". That doesn't seem to be a good message to give your child. Sacrifice for the sake of your child is a good thing....but she seems to need their attachment to her in a disturbing sort of way. I like what Em said about how setting limits with your child is an important and healthy thing to do, that no child when given the choice will choose the best thing for themselves every time. Words cannot express....(sigh). Thanks for sharing I guess B.
